Aruraune's name seems to be inspired by the Alraune plant (german for Mandrake root -Mandragora officinarum-).
This plant has roots which look like a human, they are forever bound to the ground which could explain why Aruraune is stuck in the ground before recruiting her.
The Alraune has also made its way into the monster girl scene, which is likely what inspired this character.
